Just Great Teaching: A CPD Day with @teacherhead and @RossMcGill

Between 2000 and 2005 I had the pleasure of working with Ross Morrison McGill at Alexandra Park School in Haringey.  We’ve since supported each other with our blogging activities over the years but, aside from several teachmeets, never properly worked together until now.  We both have a strong interest in developing good school-based models for teaching and learning CPD.  With that in mind, we decided to try to develop a CPD course that could have real impact at a price that is good value for money.  We’re starting with a one-day event but we’re hoping to support attendees to develop a longer-term programme in their schools as part of the input.

Our first event will be on July 8th – a Saturday because Ross is still working at school during the week.  The venue will be in central London – tbc. Our plan is to refine the model and then repeat it at various venues around the UK in the next academic year.

Here’s the overview of what we’re planning:

Here’s our flyer: Click Here for the Eventbrite Page.

We will be sending some suggested pre-reading to participants so that we can make the input nice and punchy.  Then we’ll keep time towards the end of the day to make sure people leave with a useful plan of action built around a particular class or unit of work.

If you are interested, please click through to Eventbrite.

If you think you might want to offer your school as venue, for this day or future events in return for free places, let us know.  If you would like to be kept informed of future events, please also let us know.

We’ve already got the level of interest that tells us it’s a workable model but please keep it coming.

Here is the information as presented on the TeacherToolkit site:  https://www.teachertoolkit.co.uk/2017/05/06/great-teaching-cpd/

We are in Manchester, not far from the city centre. Best regards, Cheryl Holt.
