Rosenshine Re-ordered. A Poster by @olicav

This blog post is simply a way to direct people to this lovely new poster by the mighty Oliver Caviglioli about the brilliant Rosenshine Principles of Instruction.  I first encountered Principles through Oliver’s original poster. It’s so widely circulated, I see it in staffrooms and classrooms all over the country.  Sometimes I have to remind people that, whilst brilliant in it’s visual clarity, Oliver’s poster isn’t the actual paper – it’s a graphic companion.

The full original pdf in all its glory is here:  https://www.aft.org/sites/default/files/periodicals/Rosenshine.pdf

I wrote a blog post to go with some ResearchEd talks I’ve given about Rosenshine’s paper.   Exploring Barak Rosenshine’s seminal Principles of Instruction: Why it is THE must-read for all teachers.  Here, I decided to group the strategies together into four themes to make it easier to explain in a presentation using Oliver’s original, reordered:

To my great joy, Oliver was very enthusiastic about this subtle shift and has now re-created the whole thing using this re-sequencing to make a fabulous new poster  that you can access from his site here: Download
