This post is a ritual milestone marker: 3 million views. The 2 million mark was in March 2016. Lots has happened since then including changing the name of the blog; I’m much happier with teacherhead.com. I like to record the major milestones but it takes a fair degree of geekery to have this level of fascination in some blog stats. Apologies!
This is the pattern of views per month since I started in May 2012.
Here are the all time most viewed posts, including all those with 20K views or more:
You can see the power of a click-bait title: Behaviour, assembly ideas, differentiation, homework. I’m pleased that Ten Teaching Techniques has been widely read – as has ‘Contemporary educational ideas’. Principles of Effective Teaching and 10 silver arrows also continue to be read a lot which is great.
In a couple of months the blog will be upgraded quite significantly with a new look and new functions. My book The Learning Rainforest will be published in October. Some of the material comes from blogs I’ve written over the last five years; I certainly could not have written a book had I not developed some writing fluency through blogging. I hope I can continue to maintain the blog long into the future and that people will continue to read and to comment. It’s been a wonderful experience, building up a record of ideas and reflections over time and making a contribution to various debates; it has also been therapeutic to document the various trials and tribulations of my career!
Thanks for all the support you have given this blog as readers. It means a lot to me.
